Frequently Aksed Questions
Before I meet with you for the first time, I’ll have you fill out a brief questionnaire, a screening tool or two, and I’ll check your insurance benefits (if you’re using insurance). The first session is technically considered “the assessment” but I’m often mapping a person’s story with them for the first few visits. I want us to be on the same page about what you’ve been through, so we can figure out where you’re headed and what you need to get there.
I am an in-network provider for four insurance plans:
- Aetna
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Cigna
- United Healthcare and subsidiaries
The cost per session depends on the terms of your specific plan. I’ll check your benefits before we get started and I’ll file claims after each appointment.
Absolutely! Self pay is a great option if you want more control over your care and value your privacy. When insurance is involved, they require certain details about your treatment, like your diagnosis and session dates, and sometimes they can limit or deny sessions, or even audit your records.
Paying out-of-pocket means you and I get to decide what your therapy looks like, without outside interference. My current rates are listed below. If you choose to work with me, I’ll also provide a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) so you’ll have a clear idea of your potential costs over the next 12 months.
Initial diagnostic assessment: $170
53-60 minute session: $150
37-45 minute session: $125
15-36 minute session: $75
I had a practice in Greenville, South Carolina until 2021 when I moved home to the Chicago area. I still have my license in South Carolina and enjoy maintaining a connection with clients in South Carolina through telehealth sessions. I plan to keep it going indefinitely, so new clients from South Carolina are welcome!
I love having a hybrid in-person/telehealth practice in Illinois. My Oak Park office is in the beautiful historic Scoville Square building.
